hello guys, appologies for not posting any diary entries or anything but i have had a very eventfull week and had no time for internet.  having decided to plan a trip up the east coast then across to Darwin and down to Perth, me and my new found sweedish mate Dave decided to put our pockets together and buy a campervan.  We managed to hunt around a few offers we managed to find a van for $2400 which we bought off a nice couple called Mark and Megan who had just moved to Ballina from Sydney.  We bought thye van and spent the next few days decking out the back with timber to make a bed and storage and we were very happy with the little beauty and ready to set off...so we did.  we made it to lismore which was about 40mins drive...and blew the `head gasket`...cheers.  After being told the van was worth next to nothing and the damage made it a right off, we decided to have a few beers and camp in it anyway in a far out country area..photos will be posted!!

we collectively decided to drive it anyway despite the major overheating of the engine and after long days and much stress driving the illegal bloody vehicle (registration had ran out) up the east coast and managed to get all the way to harvey bay after stopping to sleep in a car park in nossa.  we are now in a hostel in harvey bay waiting to get a bus to airlee beach where we each have to make a total of $500 before heading to cairnes and then driving across and down to Perth in a `wicked` hire campervan.

nyhowz, times are good and dave and i seem to be managing to get over each rock that seems to be thrown our way..and we hear there are some very beuty beaches and women in airlee beach and whitsundays so spirits remain high.
