Rafting, fishing, Take a poo and back round again

After leaving dunedin we headed for a place called Takepo which gave me and russ endless hours of laughter. The journeys between each stop can be very long. The scenery is beautiful with mirror lakes, vinyards, coasts, flora, fauna and mountains. but theres always ways to spice things up which is where Stus game of Tractor comes into play. For every Tractor you see you get 20 points and if its working thats an extra 20 with a dog double it and if you see a tractor sales considerthe game over cos its 500 points. V funny and definately worth a try at home!

Anyhoo. Lake Tekapo was the next stop. It was a beautiful place, with a mirror lake and surrounded by mountains. also the most popular location for a wedding in the whole of New Zealadn and i cna see why. It was the most precious little chaple next to the lake. Quaint doesnt even cover it. There was even a couple getting married when we arrived. Its booked up 18 months in advanced though so sorry ladies.

After Tekapo we were heading for our home strait to North island. Not before stopping at Rangitata rafting centre in the Rangitata gorge near to Christchuch on the canterbury planes. The route we did consisted of 4 grade 5 rapids aswell as a few 3s and 2s. It was so exciting. so much fun and the center seemed to have the hospitality side of things sussed. The best day ever. They give you lunch and a BBQ for dinner as well as pick ups and drop offs for the day. This with rafting 101 at a smooth part of the river for us beginners and cliff jumping at eh end. so exciting and fun but my back has not yet forgiven me for jumping 5 meters off of a cliff. loved it, highly recommended and will be doing it again. Next time with you dad after seeing your stunts on You tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zho6bkkRR6Y. Love it!

christchurch was the next stop again where we managed to get ourselves into the drivers spare room much to the annoyance of Stu (our driver). Even though it was his bad booking skills that meant we had no room. lol. you should have seen his face when i saw him and said 'hey there roomie'. v funny. Next day we went to Kaikoura again and did a spot of fishing this time. The fish were practically jumping into the boat. as soon as we put the rod down into the water  we caught another fish. v cool.  We caught Perch and blue cod and got a crayfsh that we pulled in form the pots to take back aswell. V cool. That evening was spent with wine and a cooking pot to cook the Crayfish and tradtional English fish and chips with vinegar.. yes thats right you Kiwis vinegar and lots of it!! ill let the video do the talking but i wasnt happy about killing our new pets Regi and Roni Cray or later named Thelma and louise when we realised they were girls. the things wouldnt die. We ended up having to put a brick on them to drown them in fresh water and even though they looked dead when we put them in the pot they started moving again. poor guys. Russ did an amazing job of hand cut chips and homemade batter. mmmmmm my personal chef.

Next day was off on the ferry to north island and Wellington. Beautiful views out across the bay looking at the mountains.
