Upside down-You're turning me

Still loving OZ I`ve been catching up ith a lot of internet stuff lately.. Why? Because it`s been raining all the time... ;-(But I`ve had good times too, such as the karaoke, which was awesome! I don`t know what happened to half the people but at the end it was only about ten of us in our private karaoke room and only 4-5 of us singing all the time (all at the same time into 2 mics.. anybody who`s on my facebook can see the pics). It was btw Katrina`s farewell party - the Canadian girl I hung out with a lot. Katrina is quite an extroverted person and heaps of fun so I was happy she emailed me right in the beginning and that I got to spend 4 fun days with her. I believe I forgot to mention about how we went hiking and missed a huge sign (2m x 2m) on the way there because we were chatting so much and ended up making a detour of 20 km because of that. Gives you some kind of an idea how well we got along. ;-) a daytrip to Noosa (about 100 km notrh of Brisbane). I had an awesome day with rain, sun and ocean! But back to the beginning: The weather didn`t look too good but Judd and I decided to go anyway. On the way we went to a lookout on top of a mountain and as we were there we saw a wall of rain heading towards us. It wasn`t fun getting soaked but it`s fun afterwards thinking how we hung the clothing in front of the airconditioning to get everything dry. Mission accomplished and we went to have lunch in Mooloolaba, which is a nice coastal town. By this time it had stopped raining so we could eat on the beach and go for a walk before continuing the trip. As we arrived in Noosa the sun came out! Yay! And the water in the ocean was so warm that even I went for a swim. After a couple of beers, learning how Australian rules football is played and meeting up with my former hosts Zac and Nathan in a bar and yet another walk on the beach we returned to Brisbane. Noosa is such an awesome place and I had such a perfect day! :-) The evening wasn`t as perfect as the day since I at some point started dancing and hanging out with this guy from Tahiti who, as I found out from Judd who heard it from his house mate who heard it from this guy`s friend, turned out to have a pregnant girlfriend. I got really upset - not because of the guy (he wasn`t that great) but because I felt the whole world is just going mad. What is wrong with people!?! Can`t you trust anybody anymore!?! Jeez! My last days I stayed with Laure, the girl Judd is seeing. Although French, she uses deodorant and did NOT stink! ;) Laure`s house mate Ben had previously been opposed to hosting people (very bad and expensive experiences in the past) but after my stay he said they`d try it out. Yay, I`m so good! ;-) Anyway, I got along with Ben really well and it was highly interesting to talk to him because he is one of those people who`ve never left Australia. You don`t meet "such people" (this is not meant to sound derogative!) much when couchsurfing because most CSers are travel addicts. And of course it helped that Ben but is a very friendly and charming and open-minded person so we chatted the night away. The last Brissy days were not filled with CS (I can`t really count Judd and Laure as CS because they are friends) but still absolutely great. Not because I used a lot of internet but just generally. I prevented Laure from working by chatting and going on an extended luchbreak with her (I was using internet at uni where she works) and telling her about CS. We also had some of her work mates over for dinner (which I cooked!!!) So that was Brisbane. :-) In Sydney I went straight from the airport to a brewery where I`d set up a CS meet. I had no idea where I would spend the night since my host had backed up because he`d spontaneously decided to be out of town. But the first one to show up said I could come stay at his place. That was Mike who is country amb for OZ on CS and came to keep me company 2 hours before everybody else would start showing up. I didn`t even ask him because he lives at his parents` at the time and they are very much against having CSers at their place. Everything always seems to work out just fine if you don`t worry too much! :) Ok now this seems to have become a longish post... So enough for now and I`m off to meet my friend Jamie!
