Snapper and Scribbler: Travels
7th Sep 2008
Ooh, a travel blog! with a map! just what I need!

I`m a travel addict and I don`t want to be cured.

When I was a little girl I used to listen with awe to the tales my dad used to tell me about all the places in the world he had travelled to during his years in the merchant navy. He`d been to Russian, to Rio de Janero, Montevideo, America. He`d lived in Australia and New Zealand.

I`d been to Southend. When I was eleven we spent a week at Butlins in Clacton. It wasn`t until I was in my twenties that I went abroad - a day trip to Calais or Bolougne. In my thirties I flew for the first time - to the Canaries. But since then - well look at my map (which is still a work in progress) and you will see some of the places I`ve visited.

In recent years I I`ve also kept a travel journal when I`ve been abroad and taken lots of photographs (thank heavens for the invention of digital cameras). I have lots of notebooks and leaflets and scraps of paper to go with my photos and they will get writen up at some stage. Now I`ve started this blog I might put up some of the bits I`ve written up so far.
