![]() Thailand Baby, Thailand! Woo! Thailand... again! Last time I was there I did some diving around Koh Haa and it was lovely. This time I went back to Koh Lanta and hit up Koh Haa again. The vis wasn`t quite as good as last time, but then we went over to Koh Bida and I was blown away by the life there. I think Bida is probably some of the best diving in the world. Massive wall, pristine coral, caves, great life. Even at 5 meters, the variety is incredible. Snorklers saw turtles and us divers saw everything imaginable. The list of life there is as long as your arm, Reef sharks, Leopard sharks, Whale sharks, turtles, wrays, moray eels, trumpet fish etc etc etc... I`d recommend Bida and even Haa to anyone who`s serious about diving. I`d seriously consider taking a few months off and do my dive master there.... ahhhh Asia... Thai food is probably up there with the best food in the world. French, Spanish, yeah, they`re lovely but a bit pretentious and oh-so expensive. $1.00 pad thai from the side of the road is one of my favourite meals ever. Thai food is inversely related to the price you pay for it. The more expensive it is, the less you`d want to eat it. I love Koh Lanta. It`s small, dirty, underdeveloped and cheap as chips. A gorgeous western style cabana right on the beach for $45 Canadian a night. Breakfast is a bit crap, but the guard dogs are lovely and loyal, and it`s so close to the best diving in the world (see above ) and the most beautiful, empty, sugar smooth beaches in all of Asia (see picts). Come on over and visit y`all. Take advantage of my vicinity and lax work schedule people. Get your butts over here!
