Antarctica Marathon
Hi Team, I returned from possibly the most remote destinaton on earth yesterday. My two weeks away seemed like a lifetime. I did so much and it really turned out to be a trip of a lifetime, check out the video which will be placed on youtube in the next few days. I saw penguins, seals, whales and icebergs. It was breathe taking. We managed to get to 62 degrees south and entered the Antarctic Circle. As for the marathon...the course was the toughest I have ever run and had a glacier accent in it, too many hills to count, mud fields and rocky stretches. I managed to finish in 3 hours 50 mins in 7th place out of about 140 runners. I also was 2nd in my age group which was a great achievement. So that was my 9th marathon since the end of September and was my 6th continent. My justgiving page hasn't seen much action recently so please please please visit www.justgiving.com/nick2mee. I ran my heart out in Antarctica and it may appearthat I'm running all these marathons very easily but this is not the case. Kind regards, Nick Twomey Marathon Man
