Here's Where the Story Ends I got back to the house. Only Hashime was around. Mama and Baba had gone to a business meeting. They had promised to be back by 3pm to see me off. Time ticked on. I exchanged gifts with Hashime. I get a pair of goat hair sandals. 3.45 and I’m getting worried. My lift will be arriving soon and still no Baba and mama. My last task is to get some photos of me with them. I had also realised that I didn’t have many photos of mama and she wasn’t really smiling in any of them. I wanted a nice smiley picture of her. I would be very disappointed if I didn’t get this. I was beginning to get anxious. Suddenly at 4.05 Mama and Baba and my lift both arrived simultaneously. I quickly sort out my bags and then say my goodbyes and get my picture. I coax out one of mama wonderful smiles. We hug and then I am gone. Asante Sana. Thanks for everything. As I head down the Moshi road for he final time I am very quiet. This is a sad occasion. Six people had come for the rid including Beatrice. Kilimanjaro decides to say goodbye by clearing its clouds to give a great view. It has a fresh covering of new snow. At the airport we have an overpriced drink and then I say my final goodbyes. Beatrice suddenly produces a bunch of roses for me. Lovely gesture but I wonder how and if I can carry these on a plane. I take one and attach it to my bag and ask Beatrice to give the other ones to special people on my behalf. Then I’m on my final journey. Airport lounges and airplanes. I start picking up phone messages at Nairobi from home. My rose gets lots of comments from women around the airport. On the way to London I fail to sleep much. And then I’m standing in a freezing cold London morning. So this is England.I am starving and cant stop eating all day. This is mainly to fight of supreme tiredness. Having sorted out my luggage my Mum and Dad take me back to Grantham. I text Mama and Beatrice and I receive replies. At four the adrenaline finally runs out and I fall to sleep for thirteen long hours.
