Some sad news

Dear loyal supporters and friends,

I am now but days away now from the last of my 12 marathon adventure, and I have never felt so far away from my dream. Today was the day I have dreaded for the last 10 months, the day that the record for the youngest person to run a marathon on all 7 continents was broken and it was not me. To my great sadness the record has been broken by someone younger than myself. It`s a horrible feeling to have, and I feel somewhat meaningless at the moment.

There is however a glimer of hope. If I can complete the Easter Island Marathon (the last of the 12) in under 2 hours 59 mins 45 secs then I will break the Guinness World Record for the fastest person to run a marathon on all 7 continents. This however would be a Personal Best time on a course which goes up and down over 200m in elevation. It`s not impossible but it would also be near to a course record if I achieve this.

I can`t help but feel I got so near, but feel a thousand miles away from achieving my goal. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone who would like to pledge more sponsorship to my charities if I get under 3 hours in Easter Island...and thank you to those that have already done this.

On a side note, I have also been growing my hair since November for charity (blame Jenna Halford) so another reason to sponsor me, it really is sooooo hard not to get it cut, especially in this hot weather, and the hot weather of Hong Kong and China.

Anyways, I`d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support so far, and I hope I can reward both my charities and all of you for your support with this ambitous World Record by obtaining a PB...it`s not likely but I will give it my best effort.

Kind regards,

Nick x
