Well we have just about caught up on our sleep from our wonderful trip over to see the kids.  As you are aware we took a school trip out to Mtwapa Academy (21 students in total).  It was a great success and so lovely to see the programme kids as we haven't seen themfor a while.  It's good to report that the kids are doing really well although the credit crunch seems to be hitting the people of Mtwapa very hard.  All the kids in the programme are working hard in school but we did encounter a few issues that some of them were experiencing in their home life as money is so tight.  Some of the families are struggling to provide food at tea time for their children, a fact that really exemplified how important that sponsorship feeding programme is to the people within the programme. 

Thankfully with us being out there we could see first hand some of the issues and managed to ease some of the problems.  One solution has been to attach extra sponsors to the families that are struggling so that they can have regular food parcels sent out to meet their basic food requirements.  Hopefully this should ease some of the fundamental issues faced by the families.
