From poo drink to 'speaking' zulu there's a massive queue for the internet tonight so i need to hurry this a little but i want to write down at least a little before i go on my weekend trip to the drakensberge. this week has been amazing! i spend tuesday morning in the special care unit with sarah. firts we played a little bit inside with the kids and the first 15 to 30 minutes were really good...then it got a bit harder cause i started repeating the same routine with every child all over again and again, giving them some one-to-one attention. at about 10:30 we went outside with the kids and it was really lovely though a bit windy...then they got their first snack which some of the kids didn't finish til lunch time. unfortunately i got pood on by one of the girls but at leats this got me my first poo drink ;) one of the aunties came outside with us and we started kept playing with the kids after they'd finished their milk. later on we helped feeding them before we had our own lunch break. at 1pm we went down to william clarke for our meeting with dolly and florence. they gave us some general information about their activities and we discussed where we might fit in. aferwards we went for a little tour to see the different houses. then we were put into the different houses. i'll spend the next few weeks with the teenage girls which i am really happy about! i spent a few hours with them on tuesday...after that i felt a bit bad cause they were showing me pictures of last year when one of the volunteers had a favourite withing the group. i seemed to spend most of tuesday with mathilda and margaret so i was kinda scared it might seem like i prefer them over the other girls... but that changed over the course of the next few days. tuesday night we just had another braii. there were some german girls from leipzig which was really cool so i got to speak some german and we played soccer. later on that night i met apollo from mozambique who's living here for a whole year whilst studying. wednesday i spent the morning with the 24 to 36 months with pete and rachel. the weather was really good so we've been outside trampoleening most of the time which was quite tiring in the sun. in the afternoon i played some basketball with the girls and then i got my camera out and they absolutely loved taking pictures and having pictures of them taken! wednesday night i had to do some research on Pythagoras for Nanah. then we went to the posh school where the sports people are working. there was a musical and it was absolutely amazing to see this contrast. afterwards rachel, rafika, zoe, amy and me went for a pizza and had an early night in whilst most of the others went partying. today (thursday) i was with the 12 to 24 months during the morning. it was really exhausting today cause the weather was bad so we had to stay inside and there was constantly at least one child crying cause they wanted our full attention and didnt want to share us with the others. at times i had up to 7 children sitting on my legs all just trying to get some attention. during the afternoon we watched pictures, took more pictures, i saw my first monkeys, the girls taught me some zulu, i helped mathilda with ther homework and watched annie play the violin. i really enjoyed it especially as we're slowly getting closer and getting to know each other. tonight we just had some barbecue, booked our trip and amy and me we're getting ready for the weekend :)
