London! Visiting backpacker Amy.

Just got back last night from London, which was another great visit.

A long challenging public transport journey to Uxbridge where our lovely gracious host David met us and made us feel right at home.  Friday took us around the city streets of London shopping, then to Tate Modern where we met Amy and her sister.  Together we saw the permanent collection of the famous modern art gallery.  The highlight was definitely the multiplayer art computer game for kids.

After the Tate Modern we walked to see Shakespeare's theatre, from the outside.  We saw London Bridge, from afar, as we saw the Tower Bridge.  It looks nicer under lights.  Tower of London too, which I really want to see inside of!!

Dinner was in what Ina described as a "traditional English pub", which in fact was more like "a pub", the same as they are in Australia.  Except this one had table service instead of those annoying flourescent blue buzzing devices.

Saturday started off with a meeting with the Communications Director of AIESEC International, Carolyn Rush, for G-1 Billion.  It looks like AIESEC will be a major partner for G-1 Billion because of the huge volume of people they are providing us.

Ina and I continued on shopping, including the Seven Dials and Covent Gardens.  We made our way to Buckingham Palace.  This day Ina was feeling quite sick so we took it easy.  We spent a few hours in a cafe near London Victoria with Amy and David before going to Gatwick and heading home.

At Gatwick we had a funny situation.  Relaxing at the main departure lounge we heard the announcement for Geneva, "Ladies and Gentlemen we are now boarding for the xxxxx flight to Geneva at Gate 111 which is a 15 minute walk."  A 15 minute walk!!!??!?!?!?  Unbelievable!!  Could they not design the airport in a better way?

Thank you once again David for a lovely stay.  Amy once again great to see you!!
