Bolivia and the non-Jungle! Hi everyone! Hope all is well...we are writing to you from La Paz...over the last few days we have finished our tour, left our group, tried to get to the jungle and failed, ended up back in La Paz, both had Bolivia belly and met Lucy and Rachel from uni! Today is our last day in Bolivia tomorrow we have 3, yes 3 flights to get us to Argentina! So what happened after Potosi...thankfully it was a smooth ride to Sucre, and we arrived in good time. Sucre is lovely, its a student town, modern looking, hot and clean! It was also the home town of our tour leader so that was amazing as she knew loads of stuff! As per usual...first thing was the city tour to tick off all the necessary sights...we did end up at a very "interesting" museum that detailed all of the polotical history of Bolivia...no questions please...not sure how much we learned! We then headed to a much more interesting destination...a chocolate shop...! We spent 2 nights in Sucre, on the second day we visited the dinosaur footprints ...really interesting! So big! Wow! That evening we had our last meal with our group, and everyone let there hair down...most of the group left earlish, but we decided to stay out with Karina our tour guide and she took us to an authentic Bolivian nightclub,,,it was really good fun and fun to see the locals out! We headed back to La Paz...on a rather uncomfortable flight...don´t thing anyone was feeling to healthy on the plane ride. We checked back into Loki....and little did we know the start of Bolivia Belly had begun! eeek! Monday turned out to be a horrible day for us! We were due to catch the 0615 plane to the jungle, so we arrived at the airport at 0445am..We were both feeling awful, I was being sick and Mel had stomach cramps too....we were not in a happy way! Anyway it turned out that due to storms in the jungle our flight had been cancelled and we had been placed on standby! This was no good to us as we didnt have the time to delay our trip by a day as we needed to be back to catch our flights on friday! We discussed with 2 other girls and realised that we could end up being stuck in the jungle....not worth the risk...so much to our diappointment we decided to cancel the tour and get our money back. In our poorly state we decided to check into the same hostel as these girls..Adventure brew too.....BIG mistake. This hostel was dark, shabby and smelly compared tro Loki...we spent the rest of the day sorting out the refund from the tour and frequenting the bathroom facilities! By the end of the day we were both so exhausted..we headed back to the Adventure hostel where our room stank...of smelly boys...we made a choice..we would try and book back into Loki, comfy beds, cleans odour free rooms and hot showers! Someone was being king and we managed to book a room! Hooray! We made our excuses...(white lies) and checked out of Adventure! We were both a bit fed up of being in La Paz...we couldnt eat due to our stomachs, so all in all a bit rubbish....we deciided to head out for a wander in the evening...and when we got to recepetion we spotted two familiar faces...Lucy McConnell and Rachel Pratt ( 2 girls from Notts) had just checked in!!!!! It was so good to see them we couldn´t believe our luck! So to round up this entry, we have spent the last couple of days showing the girls around, watching Karate Kid he he! And generally exploring ...we both feeling a bit better and are very excited to visit our next country....So we´ll next chat to you from Argentina! Love to all MASH XXXXX
