Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the World!! - plus Buenos Aires Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, on the shores of the Beagle Channel and surrounded by the Martial Mounts. It is the capital of the Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and Southern Atlantic Islands Province. The Argentine part of the area is Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. It is divided by the Andes Mountain Range, which runs almost equal in two perfectly defined regions; it features in the north area a plain scenery and has Rio Grande as the most important town. To the south the mountains reign with their valleys that get into the ocean: here you will find Ushuaia. It was truely amazing, the most wonderful place I have ever experienced in my life! We started off our trip with excitment but the holiday was testing us all the way, as we arrived at Rio international airport, they told us they had lost our booking, we had no flight to go to, we were in shock...but we managed to get the staff working and they managed to get us on the same flight and for cheaper! it was a bumpy ride with lots of turbulence but we landed safely in Buenos Aires, once getting there, we waited for our next flight to Ushuaia, then they told us we missed our flight as it was at another airport in Buenos Aires, omg you can imagine what we thought..no one at the airport told us we had to change airports..so again they managed to get us on a flight from the international airport that we were already at, thank god! at this point, we were getting worried because everything was going wrong..we managed to get to Ushuaia, safe and sound though! tired from a long 12 hours trip, we never slept, we just got to the hostel then went straight out to the mountains. It was freezing at 3c, i hadnt felt that cold since a really bad winter in scotland!! Anyway we went through the whole town, ate nice food, went to the mountain range and the next day we went through the Beagle Channel to the Penguin island. The Beagle Channel is a strait separating islands of the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago, in extreme southern South America. It separates Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego from the islands Nueva, Picton, Navarino, Hoste, Londonderry, Stewart Islands and other smaller to the south. Its eastern portion is part of the border between Chile and Argentina, but the western part is completely within Chile. The west end is the Darwin Sound and the east end is Nueva Island. The penguins were just so cute and i loved every minute of it! silent and cold.. we took many pictures and even brough the video camera to always remember the moment. After this we had to head back to the hostel to pick up our luggage and leave for the airport, it was a very short trip but one of the best in my life. We also then had a big argument at the hostel about our payment for the room, over charging us, false advertising and everything, no one could speak english and it just sucked!! but we got a discount on this too!!, so this was the 3rd thing to go wrong on the trip.. So we flew back and stopped off in Buenos Aires, we had to go straight through the city to reach the other airport, we had some nice views and seen the main street there, we got on all our planes fine this time and it was aquick flight as we slept from been so tired from the trip! Buenos Aires is the capital, and largest city, of Argentina, currently the second-largest metropolitan area in South America, after São Paulo. It is located on the eastern shore of the Río de la Plata, on the southeastern coast of the South American continent with a population of around 13 million. After arriving back home, we looked at the video we had made from our trip, it wasnt working for some reason and then nearly all of my photos had been deleted for some reason...the 4th bad luck to happen with this trip, i managed to have some photos saved, the ones you see but yes im devastated that our photos have gone... The trip seemed to have lots of bad luck but in the other hand it was truely wonderful and amazing. I was so close to Antartica...one day it will be another stop off for me. Obrigada Zaira, i will always thank you for making me the happiest girl ever, te amo, beijos.
