Matrix Reimprinting Tour
7th Nov 2009 - 11th Nov 2009
Aussie Roadtrip

We decided to hire a car to make our way up to Coffs Harbour, which is about a seven hour drive. Any reason not to jump on a plane was good, with all the flying we’ve still got left to do. Booked it online and then went down to Budget to pick the car up. Conversation with the guys on the desk went like this:

Budget: “Where you off to?”
Us: “We’re off to Coffs Harbour!” (very excitedly)
Budget: “I hope you’ve packed your dingy, you dozy pommies. It’s under a foot and a half of water!”
Us: “Oh…” (Cue hysterical laughter from the Budget guys)

Turns out, that area had experienced flash floods overnight and had now been declared a national disaster area with thousands of people stranded. Bugger! It takes a lot to faze us, so with that optimism (or stupidity!) in mind, we grabbed the car keys and set off up the north east coast. The further up we got, the worse the weather got. It got so bad that it felt like home! :o) The scenery was still spectacular at times though, regardless of the weather.

One of the highlights for me of the trip was Karl getting pulled over for speeding by a real, live Aussie cop! It took me every ounce of self-control not to get my camera out but I figured I might make her angry. As it was, she was pure Aussie sarcasm in answer to Karl’s explanation that he was from England and wasn’t sure of the speed limits when she pointed out that as he’d just driven 400 miles from Sydney perhaps he might have seen the sign saying 100 km speed limit all the way?? So he doffed his cap and took it on the chin and we drove off like Miss Daisy with a £100 bill to pay & no points. Result! We’re thinking of doing the same in the US to see what the traffic cop experience is like over there!! Of course I’m joking …

We eventually made it to Coffs Harbour which was now one soggy looking place with torrential rain looking like it was never ending. But check out the place! The training venue was Aanuka Beach Resort, which was a series of villas nestled in amongst rainforest and banana plantations and home to all sorts of wildlife. Massive flying beetles (do NOT go well with salad!), huge water dragons (lizards), sand flies and a random turkey. It was critter heaven! There were noises we heard on the first night coming out of the dark that were alien to our delicate English ears! Very cool place and right on the beach too.

One of the best things about being here has been getting to spend some time with Karl’s big sister, Caroline, (who’s lived in Australia for the last 21 years) as she's also an EFT practitioner & has been at the conference with us. In fact, that’s making it all the more sad that we’ve got to leave tomorrow, coupled with the fact that we’re staying in a beautiful part of the country and we’ve spent most of the time working! The rain stopped the next day, by the way, and the sun came out and has been out ever since.

The EFT Extravaganza training was fabulous and, again, we met lots of brilliant people doing amazing things from around the world.

Tomorrow we’re zooming off back to Sydney (driving within the speed limit, obviously!) and then we’re flying to Las Vegas the following day on what will become known as The Long Good Thursday. Once I’ve recovered from the bizarre time travel involved there, I’ll be back to tell you all.

Till next time …
