KEITH ON HIS TRAVELS 2009/2010
14th Nov 2009 - 17th Nov 2009
KUALU LUMPUR (MALAYSIA)

I'm looking forward to getting out of this cold place its been really nice here but after spending so much time in hot places this is not the place for me, Me and Andy take the over packed public bus to Kuala Lumpur.. I can't believe it when the bloody thing breaks down after 1 hour and twenty minutes in to the drive there, stuck in a layby in some little remote town looking like complete idiots trying to buy food from locals..?? We wait for another bus to come so everyone can swap buses, its a suprise when the new bus arrives its a bigger VIP bus which will be faster and it will have more room..!!

We get dropped off in down town Kuala Lumpur opposite the underground bus station we have been given a card for a good hostel but its the matter of finding it in this huge city, I ask at a police infomation centre for directions and turns out its about a 5 minute walk max..!! After getting the room sorted Me and Andy head out firstly to burn a cd with all the pictures taken from Malaysia and secondly for Me to try and buy a new camera, that explains why i hav'nt updated my photos lately.. We find a huge electriconics mall which we look around for a while i manage to find a camera the the same as wot i had apart from it being in silver, we proceed to head downstairs to burn the cd's while waiting for them to be made we go off looking for somewhere to eat.. We choose a italian, after traveling thailand, laos cambodia you can see the difference in price its alot more expensive here then i had imagined... After food we take a walk over to the Petronas Twin Towers to get some evening pictures of them i'm suprised by how many people are visiting them at night, we discover you can come here in the morning to get a ticket but you have to get there early otherwise you won't get one.. we say we'll go over in morning first thing and try to get a ticket to go up to the towers, we're here so we take a walk around getting some snaps inside, i had no idea there was a shopping conplex in the basement we had a look around mainly window shopping then get the tube back to the nearest train station to the hostel..

We get up early get to the train station and straight down to the KKLC stop by the Petronas Twin Towers, we get inside only to be confronted by a massive queue..!! We want to go up there so we wait and queue for a ticket, it takes maybe 2 hours but we get a ticket but will have to come back at 6:00pm in the evening never mind it will give us time to see the city before we come back later that day.. After the pain queuing around for hours we stop of in the basement at some little bakery for some late breakfast which goes down a treat, we then get a tube to the nearest bus station and get the local bus to the Buta Caves located in Gombak on the way there we meet a lovely french girl called Amandine who we hang out with for a while, we have to climb 272 steps before we can go inside the main cave passing lots of monkeys being fed by people on the stairs on the way up.. We take a look around inside the cave getting a little wet from all the drips of water coming down, on the way back to the bus stop we see some local hindos getting married we all take some photos and watch for a little while then get bored and go to wait for the bus.. The public transport is a joke the buses can be filled to the bream and they still try to get more on, anyway we get back into Chinatown and go for some lunch/dinner before we have to go back to the Tower's for a guided tour at 6:00pm.. When we eventually got up to the skybridge that stands 170metres high between the two towers thats between the 41st and 42nd floors you get some great views of everything around you and below you.. After Me and Andy go for a couple of beers in the reggea bar down town as Andy is going to singapore in the morning so we're splitting up..

Andy wakes me at 8:00am to say goodbye, he's been the best person i've met so far on my travels more like an older brother then a travel partner.. I spent my last day in Kuala Lumpur walking around in the pouring rain to see some site's i missed yesterday, first of i went to the KL Communications Tower to get some photos bearing in mind it was very clouldy i still managed to get some average pics, then went for a walk to the National Monument in the Asean Sculpture Gardens passing the Jamek Mosque and Kuala Lumpur High Court on the way there..!! I took cover at the Monument for ten minutes or so and waited for the weather to calm down before heading back through the Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens to go to the Police Museum only for it to be shut today as monday is maintenance day, instead i stop of to look around the Kuala Lumpur Old Railway before stroling back to the hostel to get a shower and change of clothes.. I book a ticket to Melaka which is leaving the next morning at 11:00am so i have a reading session and get a early nite..
