Tom "The Pom" on Tour

Birthday Celebrations! Well Monday night at Scubar was as messy as it could possibly have been. Planning beforehand could never even imagined the sights that we witnessed, it really was a great evening with many people making the trip to Central Sydney for a great night on the town. I know the managers of Scubar, and they had planned for free drinks and entry to the place for the night and the crab races. One of the managers even paid for a warm up at Cargo Bar, Darling Harbour where we were treated to food and drinks on the house. Legend! We headed to Central afterwards for the night, and were welcomed by the Irish contingent. Freddie (my housemate) and Lavinia (a legend of a girl) organised most of it, along with a little communications between Scubar and yours truly. So the Snakebites were hit early on which was interesting. Went down beautifully, and the crab races went by. I managed to only get in on one race, and came 2nd, got the tshirt (went to Dec) and the cap (went to Lav) so ended up empty handed! I was also up on stage for one of the races after popular demand and the crowd chanted my name! It was such a classic, but it seemed the best answer. After talks of a dance off, Ainscough T really didn`t believe that was the way forward, so left the stage, and away we went. Shortly after the final race, the birthday brew was produced and the chant "Here`s to Ainscough... he`s a pisspot through and through..." was produced and I knew that was trouble. For someone who hadn`t drunk for four years before getting over to Australia, it was a major challenge. But did my best before deciding to run to the bathroom. Shouting at Kenno who bought it, I demanded water before nearly being sick! It was a shame that the manager saw me, and was given a rugby style ten minutes in the sin bin, and thrown out of the club. Disaster struck, but I got back in, bigger and better, for some class karaoke and dancing, before heading home remembering about the 8am start the next morning, so I got back to Hunter`s Hill for about 3.30am. Pan and Paddy Waller are in town, as is George Mason which is very amusing, and all are staying with me at the moment. Very enjoyable. Tonight is a very much quieter affair hopefully with just some close friends coming over to the local for some quiet (and free) drinks which is good. We have done the tourist stops, but all is good. They leave up the coast on Saturday, before heading back here in about a month. I only have a month to go now, and time is going too quickly for my liking. Anyway, I hope that everyone is well. Lucy, have a great birthday in Malawi tommorrow, and Daddy, have a great one on the 7th. Enjoy, and keep in touch with the travel news. Tom.
