| Sandoval Lake | |
| The long muddy walk into Sandoval Lake was a butterfly extravaganza. There were literally thousands of them drinking from the muddy puddles. We paddled along a short channel then out into the lake where whe caught our first sightings of many animals including black caiman, and heaps of birds, bats and the amazing hoatzin. |
