Summary

On our bus journey back from Chitwan, Melissa and I played hangman with a Nepalese theme and I thought the words were quite apt in summarising this trip:

  • Number of Days: 24
  • Number of flights: 6
  • Highest altitude reached: 5360m
  • Days trekking: 12
  • Showers taken: 5
  • Hot showers taken: 2
  • Maximum days between showers: 12
  • Mars bars eaten: 6
  • Frozen toilets encountered: 5 squat toilets with frozen edges, 2 Western toilets which would not flush
  • Days of cloud whilst trekking: 0
  • Lowest temperature in room at night -10
  • Days with power cuts: 11 – basically every day we were either in Kathmandu or Chitwan. The mountains were fine!
  • Strikes: 3 that we know of, only 2 we got caught up in, most likely more when we were trekking
  • Total steps recorded until pedometer broke: 136,812
  • Total calories recorded until pedometer broke: 4,100.87
