Jacky's visit

Another great week was spent with Jacky for her annual visit. As well as our usual days of swimming and boat trips to Bandar Kayran, Jacky and I also took a dive boat to the Damanyat Islands with their beautiful coral reefs. The snorkelling was amazing, with a myriad of different corals and fish and we were also lucky enough to come across a very inquisitive turtle.

Bob joined us for a trip to Jebel Akhdar and as we drove to the top, the temperature began to drop, finally reaching 31, making it a welcome change from the the mid 40's of Muscat. Once at the top, we took a walk to an abandoned village and then had a delicious lunch at the newly built Hotel, overlooking the Valley. Despite the cold temperature of the pool there, we all enjoyed a welcome swim after lunch, before heading back to Muscat.

On Jacky's last morning, we visited the Amouage Perfume factory where we learned the details of pefume making and collected some samples of their newest perfumes, making an interesting end to her stay.

Yet again, Bob and I had thoroughly enjoyed Jacky's stay. It had been a week of non stop chatter, days of interesting visits and relaxation, followed by evening meals discussing our days. Roll on her  next visit.
