Just back from a trip to the country - we stayed on a farm in a converted woolshed just near the town of Cambridge. The hosts were great sharing their vegi growing tips, baing us chocolate cake and lending us their dvd's to watch in front of the fire.  Mitch enjoyed meeting the cows and horses and having their dog, Spike follow him around everywhere.  A fun but short trip as Jacko had to race back to catch a plane to Wellington to go and see the Wallabies play South Africa (which we won by the way).  Looking forward to a longer stay next time around.
