European Vacation

Travel from Venice to Zurich

Early start - 0600 wakey - to ensure we got to the airport in time from Venice. Only 1 1/4 hour flight to Zurich from Venice. Took a train from the airport to the hotel and then decided to explore Zurich... home of Lindt chocolate, toblerone and swiss army knives. Decided to take a 3 hour round trip boat ride on Lake Zurich to Rapperswil, which is a medeivil village dating back to the 1300's. The boat ride was gorgeous, stopped in many little villages on route, enjoyed a beer while enjoying the 25 degree weather on deck. Strolled through the village of Rapperswil, visited a beautiful rose garden, had a gelato and then took the boat back to Zurich. Once back we met up with 3 of pack n pedal couples and enjoyed a fantastic thai dinner out on the terrace of a spectacular courtyard. Zurich is expensive, dinner for two came to $175.00 and we did not drink much!!! Haven' t bought any chocolate yet but that is high on my list.
