Goodbye Airlie... sob sob

I'm back on the Greyhound writing this. You'll be pleased to know I've finally left Airlie Beach after a mammoth 10 days there (and a serious hole in my bank balance)!! Loved that place though, so chilled out & met some wicked people. Though it was definitely time to leave and explore the rest of the east coast however I'm now travelling solo as Kate is going to be leaving Oz sooner than planned and I want to take my time and see as much as possible So we said our goodbye, no tears though but it was sad as I might not see her for 6 months unless we cross paths in Sydney, which is a possibility.

I spent my last days in Airlie trying to avoid the man in Beaches who kept asking me when I was actually going to leave, hanging out with Kate and Christie, generally in a hungover/vacant state and getting to know a gorgeous Aussie guy I'd met… he is AMAZING (and hot)!! I spent my last day chilling out with a friend I'd met and lazying about in his flat watching about a zillion movies, getting waited on by his lovely housemates and trying to stay awake so I didn't miss my bus out of here which went at 11:45pm. Fortunately I didn't, though I did accidentally fart very loudly in front of two Dutch girls whilst waiting for the bus who were then put in a room with me at our hostel in Agnes Water… just my luck. What a classy bird I am, hmm!! Hahaha!! Better out than in eh? Or as someone I met said, who would want to be stuck in a dark hole?! LOL! Anyway, enough of me being disgusting…

I arrived in Agnes Water after a 10 hour journey, of which I slept 8 hours whoop whoop, god knows how though as I think the buses suspension is shot to shit - bumpy as!! Agnes Water was tiny but really cute! The hostel, Cool Bananas, was hippy tactic to say the least but lovely. There seems to be quite a lot of people living there long term, including the hostel alcoholic (no, I don't mean me) who apparently had to be stopped from throwing himself in the campfire the night before… perhaps they should have let him as he was slightly nuts and drove me to an early night haha! I spent the day at the beach with an Irish guy, a Geordie and a Dutch guy called Bob Vandaboom (what a name). They surfed, I topped up my tan and then got myself in the water, getting knocked over by the waves like an absolute pro haha! Cillian (the Irish guy) and I went to do some goon filled washing, which included me folding up his undies etc whilst he nattered to his girlfriend… I drew the line at pairing up his socks but needless to say he was pretty pleased rather than thinking i was a total freak haha! We spent the evening chatting to a French couple who were cute, Cillian and Bob left for Airlie - god I was tempted to go with them, haha, obsessed!!! And I managed to blag myself a crepe made by a tiny little Aussie bloke who cooks the hostel meals, even though I didn't pay for the meal… it was AMAZING and he only made 2, get in!!! Where will my ability to obtain free things end; laptop, phone and now a crepe… getting slightly less expensive though haha!

So I caught this bus at 6:30am, early bird and all that and we've just been through Hervey Bay which looked a bit mental, the only people I saw were old and in mobility scooters!!? Maryborough looked really cute but I'm heading to Rainbow Beach. I want to explore Fraser Island but don't really want to camp as it's 2 nights 3 days and I want to get to Brisbane by Friday or Saturday as I want to go out to a club, plus I have Noosa to see in-between so am going to see if I can do a 1 day trip. We shall see.

So, that's my plan, Brisbane by the weekend then Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay for my skydive, which I'm told is loads like Airiie which could be dangerous. Then possibly Taree to see relatives, though it depends on when the buses run to and from there, then Sydney baby!!! Can't wait!!

And on that note I'm off… I should be in Rainbow Beach in about an hour and will most likely be getting my face eaten off by dingos on Fraser Island tomorrow. Bring it on ;) xxxxxxxx
