Rod and Rosie's travels
19th Jul 2011
Welcome to Abingdon

After our wet day, we turned around, and headed for Oxford. The first day we had a short day as the forecast was for the weather to deteriorate as the day wore on, and sure enough it did. we moored by the Ferryman pub with the help of someone who was already there. The wind was blowing and he held onto a rope while Rosie drove the boat and I mammered a pin in the bank to moor to.

Next day we headed into Oxford again in windy and showery conditions, The usual mooring was very busy and we got the last spot, only to find we had we had moored by another wasps nest!!!! We were about to abandon Oxford when another boat pulled away so we were able to slide into his spot, a quick trip to Tesco Metro for essential supplies, Tonic and ice and we were sorted.

Yesterday we cruised down to Abingdon and today we have stayed put, done a bit of paint touch up and generally chilled.

Tomorrow we will probably head for Wallingford, but stop short. We will let you all know.
