Leeds Met Indonesia 2008
We are 25 volunteers made up of students and staff from Leeds Met Uni...Anne Schiffer, Carl Flattery, Emma Prince, Emma Royston, Esther Kilner, Gurdeep Singh, Hannah Rippon, Hannah Elson, Kah-Mun Liew, Katie Hill, Lucie Charlton, Nina Wright, Nital Mistry, Rachel Ashworth, Richard Brown, Sarah Roberts, Sian Taylor, Susan McBurney, Thomas Quinn, Wendy Mayfield, Gill Wood, Janet Cochrane, Robbie Cochrane, Phoebe Bozeat and Rupert Bozeat. On the 28th July we traveled to The kaliandra Foundation, Surarbaya, East Java, Indonesia. We are continuing work started last year and begining new programmes at The Kaliandra Foundation; a non-profit organisation who works for the sustainable use of East Java's natural and cultural resources to provide responsible tourism opportunities. The projects we are helping with include building a playground for disabled children, making modifications to ecolodges, English teaching to school children and conversation practice with staff of the organisation and an array of tasks relating to responsible tourism.
