A time to share -- 50:50
 Hot and cold-week 12 Week 12- Hot and cold Well, amongst other gifts, Clare brought me back a cold from the uk! Busy weekend too with the return of snow and a treacherous drive up the mountain. However all of this pales into nothing compared to the saga of the carpet. As per previous week, jacky the carpet fitter inadvertently lay the carpet in two different directions. Whilst clare said she could live with it, I wanted it right so I complained to the carpet shop. Jacky returned on Monday to see the problem and accepted his mistake. He measured up again just to make sure. On Wednesday morning he returned and removed the guilty carpet, taking half of the concrete floor with it. Then he brought up the new carpet only to find it was the wrong size!!! He tried to fob me off with a solution involving various cuts and joins but this would have looked like a patchwork quilt. So he went off back to the shop and brought up a correctly measured carpet. Eventually on Wednesday afternoon all was well and jacky was 2 carpets out of pocket. Bargain. Had a great ski day on the Tuesday in les arcs. Aiguille rouge was in great condition. Then the rest of the week really warmed up. Snow great in the morning then slushy in the afternoon. The Burnards arrived on Thursday morning. Thought Julie had brought another man as did not recognise "Sylph like Mike" when he arrived. Had great ski days on Friday and Saturday with them, covered off all of the high stuff in la plagne. Despite inferior skis, Eleanor managed to make it through the first day. A quick change for a pair with a pretty picture on them made all the difference on the second day! All ate at ours on Thursday night with one of my great tartiflettes followed by one of my signature chocolate cakes. Friday night we ate at the taverna de Manchu and we managed to get a smile out of the waiter! Tom and joe arrived on Saturday and all of a sudden the apartment feels small! All ate together on saturday night-clare conjured up a hot pot that even alistair liked. Skied together on Sunday in the glorious sunshine under clear blue skies. Great to be all skiing together again, both families, and some great memories as we get to the end of the season. You will be pleased to know there are just 3 more scheduled blogs to go then it's back to reality.
