UK to Gaza Aid Convoy
18th Feb 2009
Day 4 - Bordeaux to Tarifa Port

Day 4 – We drove down from Bordeaux to Saint Sebastian (north of Spain), where we were greeted by the local Spanish community, headed by the Mayor of the Town, Spanish parliament representatives, and the Palestinian ambassador in Spain.

A local sports centre was pre-booked for us, to stay for the night, shower and eat …..

The next day, we headed to the port of Tarifa passing by Cordoba, Seville, and Cadiz.

The journey down to Tarifa was very long and exhausting (12 hours), we made few stops for Sala (prayers), refuelling and eating – and Footie Kick about!!

Our group was leading the convoy for a long part of the journey until our navigation van (LDV) had a tyre burst (semi controlled), luckily the rim wasn’t damaged and we were able to change it with the spare.

We reached Tarifa around 4:00am – (see pictures). We had a few hours sleep, a sandwich here, a cupa’f tea there.

Currently we are waiting to board the Ferry, which is headed to Tangier.

Tarifa Port – 18/02/09 – 9:20am
