Ness & Ian's tour of Australia
12th Jan 2011 - 14th Jan 2011
Perth part 2

Wednesday 12th January 2011

So we set off into Perth for the day & go on the sight seeing bus round Perth. We ended up at a shopping outlet & managed to buy 1 pair of thongs but Ian has seen some Oakley sunglasses so we'll go back to have a better look at them.

Thursday 13th

We set off early & headed into Perth to get the Captain Cook Cruise to Fremantle. What a beautiful 75mins it was. We saw some gorgeous houses with massive price tags! If anyone's got a spare $50mil just hanging around we can spend it easily for you!!

On arriving in Fremantle we got on a tram for a tour round & then he dropped us at the prison where we had a guided tour. The guides name was John & he was from yep you guessed it the UK!!! He'd been there for 36 years but still had a strong northern accent.
It was fascinating to hear the stories of the escapes that took place from there & to see the conditions that the prisoners were held in, the cells weren't huge & very basic the worse thing was they still up until the prison closed in 1991 still had buckets as toilets as they were only allowed 1 20min toilet visit a day!!

We then were picked up again by the tram & taken to Cicerellos for lunch, it claims to be the best fish & chip place in WA, they weren't far wrong, even I ate the fish! The portions were massive, although thankfully we paid as part of the package as it would've cost $19.95 each including a beer or wine!!!

After lunch we finished our tour of Fremantle & got back on the ferry for the return trip & enjoyed a wine tasting session!!

Straight from the ferry we headed off to WACA to watch West End Redbacks beat Retravision Warriors by 46 runs. The main excitement of the evening was watching Chris Gayle bat .................... he managed a grand total of 5 !!!!!!
At the end of the game even though Warriors lost they had a firework display, now we're looking forward to Tuesday's game to see what happens when they win!!!!

Friday 14th

A chill out day today ........................
