Well, my break/stay at home was shortlived.
While still in northern France, I interviewed for and was offered a job working at an ESL / outdoor adventure camp in Invermere, in B.C.`s Rocky Mountains! So while I won`t be able to spend the summer at home, I`m heading off in a few days for the second adventure of the summer.
I`ve got to say this is pretty much my dream job. In the mornings, I`ll be teaching English to 13-18-year-olds from all over the world, then in the afternoons, I`ll go with them on outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, golfing, canoeing, kayaking, and so on. Plus, on the weekends, there are full-day trips to Banff, Calgary, a canoe trip along the Columbia River and others. In between, I`ll be a counsellor, and help to make sure that both the students` and my summers are fantastic. Does it get much better?
While I`m away, I`ll keep on posting pictures and entries up on this website to let you know what I`m up to. I can`t promise frequent updates though - from the sound of it, it`s going to be a busy seven weeks. But feel free to leave messages and comments. I might actually have enough computer time to reply this time around.
