An update on Happy Menza

2010-09-01

As previously i've been sending to you some information about our kids individually and this time round we are featuring one of the youngest girls in the programme by the name Happy.Happy is a young girl aged 10 years and in class 2 at the Mtwapa Academy. She comes from a family of 6 children i.e 4 girls and 2 boys, among the six children, Happy is a second born.Happy's sisters are Dhahabu, Zena and Sabrina while her brothers are Thomas and Kennedy. Before Happy was sponsored to the programme, her parents were unable to take her to school as most of the times she used to get sick due to a recurrent eye problem(cataract) and also swelling of the skin which later developed to sores and boils.Happy and her parents have now have a smiling face ever since Happy was sponsored into the Mtomondoni sponsorship programme.Soon Happy was recruited into the programme and started going to school, she also got medical assistance also from the programme and am happy to tell you that ever since Happy has been on the programme her eye and skin problem is a history as she no longer has the problem, and thus Happy says thanks to the Mtomondoni sponsorship programme.Below is what Happy has to say as per schooling, i've also sent some pictures on Happy and her mother for everyone to have a look.
'I normally wake up for school every school day at 5 am and start preparing myself by washing, dressing, take a cup of tea and then am off to school.I love my school very much and my teachers too.My favourite subjects are Maths, Kiswahili, Science and C.R.E.My favourite food is 'ugali'(corn flour) and 'sukuma wiki'(kales-vegetables).When i finish my studies i'd like to be a doctor. To the sponsors i would like to tell them that am going on well with my schooling and i feel very much happy for continuing to sponsor me and i pray that they continue with the same spirit' end of quote.Thankyou
