This morning we packed up in about 25 minutes…as timed by our new Darwin friends (two sets of Bob and Bettys) who watched us while they had their morning coffees! They were pretty impressed with what a couple of girls could do :)
On the way to Kakadu we stopped at Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve and did a small Woodlands and Waterlilies Walk. What an amazing habitat. It was wet, wet, wet…and this is the dry season! Ana, that’s where I was when I sent you the text! I spent most of the time looking for crocs in the shallow waters. We didn’t see any of course but wow, it was very much croc territory. This was confirmed after we left the walk and saw a sign leading to the dam wall walk saying it was closed because of a large saltwater croc.
Then it was back in the car and into Kakadu. We are staying at Kakadu Lodge which has a fantastic pool and bar area and we have secured a brilliant spot with lots of shade. Very happy!
CONVERSATION OF THE DAY:
Whilst on the Fogg Dam walk…with both Bini and I constantly scanning for crocs in the shallow water…
Bini: “Don’t fall in that water Sienna.”
Sienna: “Why?”
Bini: “Because Mummy would get very muddy getting you out.”
