We have arrived in Marla a day earlier than expected but that will give me time to do washing and cleaning before Gail & Steve arrive and we head down the Oonaddatta Track. We are staying at the only place there is which is the Marla Road House Caravan Park. Cost $25 per night.
You can park anywhere in the park so long as it is not on the grass some sites have power but no water others have water but no power and a few have both we chose one with both.
The first night the meal at the pub was recommended so we went over it was not as good as the hype but OK.
While here we got on with our neighbors Brian & Sue they were also heading down the track and stopped for 2 nights to do washing as well. On the second morning we lost power and Brian pulled out his Genie and plugged us both in till the power was fixed which took about 1 hour.
We sat around and chatted and got on good we have swapped details and when they get to Melbourne in October they will give us a call.
The next morning after Brian & Sue had left we lost water and they said it could be out for the rest of the day so we moved sites just as Gail & Steve arrived they were wondering what we were doing.
Gail & Steve arrived early so we sat and chatted and had some lunch and sorted out our plans for the trip down the track.
