Today’s wakeup call is already at 6 am in the morning, since the final cleanup work as is: emptying and rinsing the Grey- and Black water tanks, emptying all the many shelves and drawers, clean the toilet and shower etc., has to be done. The floor is whipped whet at this occasion by Hedy, since the water is still happily dripping from the ceiling. Right on time at 10.45 am we arrive in Tynsborough and Lisa, the Manager takes a good look at the wet mess. She does not argue with us a bit, apologizes to us many times and offers me a price reduction of 200 $ for the inconvenience. I gladly accept since we experienced 9 beautiful sunny days before and therefore my anger remains rather limited.
In the afternoon, we do a small shopping tour and Peter offers his reliable Chevy a minor service with oil change. In the evening we travel to Andover once more to see my cousin Bob, where I will spend the night before heading on to my next destination Indianapolis tomorrow. We all decide to end our fantastic tour through New England with an opulent Teppanyaki-party at a Japanese restaurant.
Well, my friends, now I hand the keyboard back over to Peter and I hope, that I did not get you bored too much with my impressions of New England.
I want to thank Robin, Bob, Kathie and Robby thoroughly for their great hospitality and my special thanks go to my Guides, Chefs de cuisine, Pathfinders and Guardian Angels Hedy and Peter for the unforgettable days, I had the privilege once again to spend with them “on the road”! I sure hope that it will not be the last time!
Heute ist bereits um 06.00 Uhr Tagwache, da die letzten Aufräumarbeiten wie Grey- und Blackwater-Tanks leeren und spülen, X Kästchen und Schubladen räumen, Dusche und Toilette putzen etc. erledigt werden müssen. Den Boden zieht Hedy für mich gleich nass auf, da es immer noch munter von der Decke tropft. Pünktlich um 10.45 Uhr treffen wir in Tyngsborough ein und Lisa, die Managerin sieht sich die Bescherung an. Sie fackelt nicht lange, entschuldigt sich mehrmals und gewährt mir einen Nachlass von 200 $ für die gehabten Umtriebe. Ich akzeptiere gerne, da wir ja die ersten neun Tage nur eitel Sonnenschein erlebten und der Ärger daher in Grenzen blieb.
Am Nachmittag machen wir noch eine kleine Shoppingtour und Peter spendiert seinem Chevy einen kleinen Service mit Oelwechsel. Abends fahren wir alle nochmals nach Andover zu meinen Cousin Bob, wo ich bis zu meiner Weiterreise Morgen Quartier beziehe. Wir beschliessen, unsere fantastische New England Tour alle zusammen in einem japanischen Steakhouse mit einem opulenten Teppanyaki-Dinner zu feiern.
Somit gebe ich das Keyboard wieder an Hedy und Peter zurück und hoffe, dass ich Euch mit meinen New England Eindrücken nicht zu sehr gelangweilt habe.
Robin, Bob, Kathie und Robbie danke ich ganz herzlich für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und ganz besonders bedanke ich mich bei meinen Guides, Chefs de Cuisine Pfadfindern und Schutzengeln Hedy und Peter für die unvergesslichen Tage, die ich mit ihnen wieder „on the road“ erleben durfte! Ich hoffe, es war nicht das letzte Mal!
