Day 19

53nm to go.

Well we are so close and can you believe it we have to slow the boat down, if we don't we will hit the island at around 3.30am which will be shocking.

So today we have taken down the stay sail, and are only flying the Yankee and a small part of the mizzen, and still doing over 5nts,
know matter what we do we just can't seem to slow us down, it's typical, we have been trying to sail as fast as we can for weeks, and then when we really need to slow down we are getting hit by strong winds, gusting 30knts and wild wild seas.

I'm back popping seasick pills like crazy again, and have to stay on the high side of the boat, I have found that this helps a lot. ( the side that is not leaning over and getting drenched by waves)

At the moment we are bucking all over the place, as we have had to change our angle once again, we are now about 40nm off Cocos but going straight past, than when we are a certain distance we will turn around and head for it.
If we get it right, we should reach the Island just on day break.

I have spent a good chunk of the day trying to get the boat tided up some, only to have these seas hit us and it's all messy again.
Also I saw my first ship in  days today, it was a big cargo ship and was heading straight for us, I had to change our coarse several times, to make sure we didn't hit it, Then they called us on the Radio, we had a nice chat, they asked if we were all right and if we needed anything, ( we were bucking all over the place) we also asked where they had come from, It was Brazil, via Cape Town South Africa and were heading to some Chinese port, so yeah they were on a big voyage.

And other than that we are just rocking along and can't wait to get to the new anchorage, have calm seas and sleep a whole night in our own bed.

Well tomorrow is another day.
