Monday 22nd September 2014

Well first off a big Happy Birthday to my sister Myree, I hope you have a great day, lots of love from both of us, on Paradise....haha

I feel a bit like my daughter, when she got engaged every chance she could she would have her ring in a picture....haha, now I am throwing paradise in every blog.

This morning we woke up to the boat having a blue tinge all over, it took a few minutes to realise the wind had grabbed hold of the Rabbit Sail and covered the whole boat with it.
It was a mad scramble in very strong winds to save it and get it all stuffed back into its cover, it did take a few attempts but eventually we got it all under control, and we could settle down and have our first cup of coffee for the morning.

Well the rain has gone for now, if you can call it rain, it's more just squalls, it hits fast and by the time you have closed up everything it's stopped, but the wind has not let up at all, man is it blowing, I have actually felt seasick with all the rocking and rolling.

We are starting to be overrun by yachts, the World ARC rally is starting to come in.
The ARC Rally is basically a group of boats that sail around the world together, they start at St Lucia in the Caribbean and finish up there as well.
There is usually around 200 yachts that start but a lot drop out here and there, lucky for us there is only about 20 left.

So they are coming in droves, at least we have had something to look at watching them all come in, but man I would not want to sail like that.
I could not stand being in such a big group, and having to go where you are told, in all fairness, I guess if you don't feel comfortable sailing alone it's a great way to see the world, just not for us, it's almost too close to cattle herding.

And my pet hate today, people who stand up in their dingy's, come on guys do you see our stupid you look?
Serious almost all these guys stand up, for the life of me I can not understand why, so you get a wet arse, so what, your living on a boat it comes with the territory, the piece of cake is when you have Ma and Pa, both standing up one behind the other, oh man it cracks me up, double stupid.

Then you have the guys that wear their wet weather gear, cause the wind is blowing and we are getting a touch of rain, here they are standing in the dingy wet weather gear Ma and Pa have matching gear, and it's, stinking hot, rain, wind or not it's still stinking hot.
Guess you gotta look the part.

Almost all these boats are million dollar boats Talk about boys and their toys they have everything that opens and shuts, we kinda look like the poor relation, we were taking to a guy onshore and he said we give the place character,  not sure if that was a complement or an insult...haha

Well tomorrow is another day.
