Day 9

991nm to go.

Well we are under the 1000nm mark, yay

I have to say this has been a really big struggle of a crossing, as you know it's been a tough trip but things are settling down as each day goes by.

I even managed to get two fishing lines out, it was a struggle as I made up new rigging, one from a green shopping bag, thanks Woolworths and the other from one of my lures.

Rosario from the boat Andros that we meet in Cocos was showing me the lures he uses, he has a small white one and a small green one, so I thought I would try my luck with something similar, so far nothing is happening, although he did say that you need to be going over 6knts to catch fish, we are lucky to make 5knts so maybe it's not me or the lures, maybe it's the boat...haha sounds good to me.

Talking about the people we met in Cocos, Rosario and Elizabeth on the yacht Andros left about two days before us, and the day before we were leaving a yacht came in called Sikkim there is three Spanish guys on board and they are also friends with Rosario and Elizabeth, although we have not met them in person we chatted on the radio a few times and they left two days after us.

We have tried to stay in radio contact but we are just too far apart, but the three of us are emailing each other daily, it's good to know we are not alone out here, and that we have a boat in front and one behind us.

So far Sikkim is winning in the fishing department they have caught two tuna  and a Mahi Mahi, Andros and us have caught nothing, I think I need to have a talk with the guys on Sikkim when we finally get to Rodrigues.

Well tomorrow is another day.
