Day 15

556nm to go.

Now if you have been following the nautical miles at the top of each post you will be wondering what is going on.
Yesterday was 304nm and 3 days to go and today 556nm..and 6 days.

Well I guess I got excited for nothing, The Captain has decided that we are going to skip Rodrigues and head straight for Mauritius instead.
Yeah am not too happy about this, but I can understand his decision, if we go to Rodrigues we will lose about another 3-4 days, and the days are starting to get very important.

We have to leave Mauritius by early November as it's the start of the Hurricane season and Mauritius is very well known for getting hit by hurricanes, there is also no place safe to leave your boat so we need to get out of there as soon as possible.

We really do need to stop for awhile, we need to get the generator fixed, the main sail fixed, this we were going to leave till we got to South Africa, but the winds have not been what we thought they would be and we actually need the main sail.
Also we need to fix a heat exchanger on the main engine, it never ends.

And to rest for a few days, get some fresh produce, fuel and make more water in calm waters.

So in about 5 days time we should get there with any luck.

Well tomorrow is another day.
