Sunday 9th November 2014

Well John did turn up right on time, and we now not only have a working generator but it's all back in one piece, as he finished he laughed and said Capitaine  as he calls The Captain all the time and says all good and then holds out his hands, he had six screws leftover....a bit of a worry I hope it does not fall apart...haha

He than said he will come back at 3.30pm to pick us up and take us to his house.
He has been wanting to do this for a week now, we have put him off several times but this time he was not taking no for an answer.

I was a bit worried about how we were going to get there, I know we have seen him ride a little motor bike around and also I know he catches the bus a lot.

Most of the people here are as poor as church mice, and have nothing, but they are very proud of what they do have.
We thought we should dress a bit decent so The Captain puts on a new shirt and his good shorts, myself a nice skirt and nice top.
His wife is Indian and we have seen then walking around in their finest, so I still felt underdressed.

So 3.30 comes and he turns up, in what he said was a taxi man the car was rough but we piled in and off we went, I really did not feel comfortable about this.
It was not far away, we stopped at this rundown area, I'm thinking oh man here we go, what has The Captain got me into this time.

So we all pile out and walk up to a huge solid timer gate, he slides the whole thing open and in we go.
We walk up what felt like a million stairs I'm thinking oh man are you serious it really looked dodgy, but once inside we were pleasantly surprised, it was actually very nice and talk about lovely people, and yeap I was over dressed his wife was in Boardshorts and tshirt...haha.

Although it was really hard to communicate we did ok they made such a fuss, and served meat which I'm sure was pork or hope it was and some Chinese bread roll things I have no idea what was inside them, they did know about my food problems and said it was all ok.
We had a lovely couple of hours there, they wanted to give us everything, they also gave us some herbal medicine, that is suppose to be good for everything, it just looks like sticks, they told us how to prepare it and you cut it up and boil it with a small carrot and then drink it in the morning, about twice a month.

The Captain was not real sure about this at all, but they both looked so healthy so I can't see a problem with it.

Eventually a taxi came for us to take us back we had to refuse so much from them serious it was almost embarrassing we did leave with Watermelons, mangos fishing gear and herbal stuff, so they were happy.

It's moments like this that make the cruising life a very special life, we just love mixing with the real people.

Well tomorrow is another day.
