St Helena Friday 25th December 2015

Well so it's Christmas and a very Merry Christmas to all.

I so hope you all are having a great day, although as I'm writing this back home in Aus it's almost over.

We had a very quiet day, it was so different to the normal Christmas we are used to, and man did we miss family and friends.

I know we miss them all the time but there is something about these special days that hit the hardest.

Of cause Christmas is the biggie but birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc all are hard and today was one of them.

We tried hard to get into the Christmas spirit, I could not find my Christmas tree at all, so Ralph was our only decoration, we do have strip lights on the boat, and they kinda look like fairy lights, but in day light you would not be able to see them, and besides it was a grey miserable day, so we didn't have enough power to run them.

So we decided to play Christmas songs and the first one played was Christmas at sea, oh man we both cried, this was crazy, we changed to more happy Christmas songs and that was better.

I made a huge baked chicken dinner, we had a very rich chocolate kinda cheesecake and ate chocolates on and off all day, our little present to each other, oh and drank wine and cocktails, which resulted in us both having to have a nana nap....haha

Late into the night we watched Christmas movies until we were christmased out.

This was really not our plan for Christmas Day as we were hoping to have it on shore, maybe join in on a local Christmas dinner at one of the cafes or the pub, but the ferry service was not running today and everything on shore was closed.

Our 2nd thought was maybe spend some time having a few drinks with Louis and Betty on Ave Del Mar, but it was still so rough that we could still not lower the dingy.

This sounds like all doom and gloom but we did ended up having a nice day, it was just different, and family and friends we missed you terribly.

Well tomorrow is another day.
