Day 29 Passage to Trinidad Friday 26th February 2016

11.50pm

Position 00°32'N. 037°45'W

The wind is around 12kts and our speed is 3kts.

And yes if you have taken notice of our positions we are now in the northern hemisphere, we have crossed the equator.

It happened around 8am and I was asleep, does anything feel different? Nope still the same ocean the same sky, you would kinda think something should change but it doesn't.
I can remember when we crossed it for the first time in the Pacific Ocean and felt the same way then, but everything just seems the same.

Our big achievement today was The Captain fixing the generator, it seems it had an air lock.
It has not been running at all since we had the big storm, as when we heeled over so much it had taken air into the system.
It has been playing up a lot before this and it would sometimes work and other times not, we think it may have already had just a small airlock and blocked the system sometimes and sometimes not.
I tell you it's such a relief not having to run the main engine to charge the batteries as its so noisy.

Not much else has happened today, other the we have had big seas so it's been a bit bouncy, but no storm clouds around thank god.

We have had two ships today as well and two fishing vessels, these fishing boats have been around the last few days and it worries us a bit as they don't show up too well on the radar.

I guess at least it keeps us on our toes as we have to keep looking around and scanning the horizon as well.

I had next to no sleep last night and have tried to catch up on some today with not much success, so it won't be long and I'll be waking The Captain to take over.

Well tomorrow is another day.
