Diary for Harry and Judy's RV Trip

Day 13-June 1, 2017-To New York

2017-06-01

Drove 225 miles in 6-3/4 hours (but we stopped for groceries)

THE SUN IS OUT!!!!!!  Guess that storm last night knocked out the clouds.  But even though the sun is shining the temp hasn’t gotten above 70…but we’ll take it.

We took the scenic route through the mountains of New Hampshire and then Vermont on routes 4 and 9.  Very New Englandy scenery with white churches, antique shops, red covered bridges, steep grades, roaring rivers and streams and mountain lakes.  In the towns there are now roundabouts instead Day 13-June 1, 2017-To NY

of stop lights and traffic seems to flow better.  Passed through some quaint little towns, my favorites:  Wilmingon, VT, with lots of flag covered bridges and buildings (there was probably a parade through here Memorial Day) and Hoosick, NY, with a lot of funky statues in the middle of town.  We stopped at a Walmart to restock the fridge and got to Saratoga Escape Resort in Sarasota Springs about 6:00 to find the office closed.  But we found an employee who opened up for us and we settled into a nice site for the next 3 nights.

Both Harry and I have the feeling that this is the beginning of our trip.  We don’t know if it’s because we’re now going to places we’ve never been before, the weather has changed (fingers crossed), we’re now headed west, we have visited with lots of friends and family and are now on no schedule or a combination of all of these.
