Day 14-June 2, 2017-Saratoga Springs Casino and Racing

Cloudy and barely reached 60.

Did some chores in the morning then went to the casino in the afternoon.  Big casino attached to the hotel and harness racetrack in the back of the casino.  Tried our luck at the slots for a while but it wasn’t to be.  Ate dinner at the buffet, very nice, not a lot of greasy junk food for a change.  Tried our luck at the racetrack and made out a little bit better but we didn’t come back rich.  We bet on the horses by their name, not how good they were.  We had never been to harness racing and it was fun.  The casino was getting really busy by the time we left.  Drove through Saratoga Springs where they have 24  five foot tall fiberglass sculptures of ballet slippers in different spots representing  the museum of dance that’s here and I don’t know how many life size horse statues, also fiberglass.  I was surprised at how crowded and busy the main street was, people sitting outside at bistros for dinner (even though it’s chilly) and people hustling and bustling around the shops. Came back to the campground and looked at some maps to try to decide where to go next.  We both know we want to get where it’s warmer but we don’t see how we can do that in the next couple of days.  Hopefully the weather will warm up for us. It was 40 here last night and promises to be just as chilly tonight.
