Day 23-June 11, 2017-To Galloway, OH-Wine, Beer, Casino

Drove 127 miles in 2-1/4 hours.  Hot today-up to 91.

Easy ride today-it’s Sunday, we’re on interstates with not much traffic and we only went a short distance.  Galloway is a suburb of Columbus.  We had a headwind most of the way but nothing terrible.  Listened to the book on tape for a while but most of the time we discussed where we wanted to go next and what direction we should go.  Being in the middle of the country we have too many choices.  Got into the campground about 12:45.  The owner’s home is a beautiful red brick and the inside (the parlor serves as the office) is decorated with Victorian era antiques, really beautiful.  We were given information about the town and campground, including where the tornado shelter is in case we hear the siren-let’s hope we don’t) and which casino (there are 2) has the best buffet and which has the best payouts. Then we were escorted to our site.  We set up, had lunch and then took off to explore.  We first went to Grove City about 10 minutes away to Plum Run Winery and Grove City Brewery, both in the same building.  We’re starting to see more and more wine and craft beer together.  The wine was OK but the beer, especially the porter, was better.  From there to El Dorado Scioto Casino and Downs back in Columbus.  This casino is definitely more fun than the ones we’ve been in lately.  We actually played for a couple of hours, winning and losing, winning and losing.  I was having good luck at one machine and stayed there most of the time.  No horse racing today but we took a peek at the track.  On the way back we got the truck washed, it still had mud caked on from a few days ago.  It looks much better now.  Back to the RV to look at maps and campground books again, have dinner and finally settle in and relax.
