Day 9-July 14, 2017-Branson

Raining in the morning which cooled things off.  Only got up to 85 today even when the sun came out in the afternoon.

Called to complain about the tickets last night but was told the tickets were the “best available”.  I have to admit the show was sold out and we called really late for tickets.  Called to make reservations for a campground tomorrow night but they were full. The owner gave me the name of another campground nearby and we are OK with them.  We’re finding more campgrounds are full this year than in previous years.  Guess that’s a good thing for the economy.  Went to the ticket agency we bought our tickets from for our visit in November to make sure we have good seats. We do, some are even front row, center.  Lake Taneycomo, the Branson Scenic Railroad and stores galore are in Branson Landing.  We found a campground right on the lake in the middle of all the action that would be good for next time.  It’s in Branson Landing at the end of Route 76 where all the theaters are.  The campground we’re in now is only 3 miles from the show we saw last night.  Everything is spread out yet somehow close to the shows.  Very easy to navigate Branson even though traffic  on Route 76 gets backed up when shows are starting or getting out.  But it’s not terrible.  It might take us 20 minutes to go 3 miles to the show.  And there are the Red, Blue and Yellow Routes which go around Route 76 if you’re not going to any show and want to avoid the traffic.  There are a lot of new things either already built or being built, new restaurants, hotels, and even a new roller coaster that is set to open later this year.  Came back to the campground and sat outside and read.  First time we’ve been able to sit outside in a while.  Being on top of a mountain gives us a nice breeze, too.
