Day 26, Old Colorado City, Canon City, Manitou Springs, BBB

Nice day, up to 75 and mostly sunny with bit poufy clouds

Looked at maps again in the morning and made some plans and phone calls for the next few days.  Then we drove back into Old Colorado City again and walked around some shops.   It’s not as busy as it was over the week-end but quite a few people were out  for brunch and shopping.  We then drove a little over an hour into Canon City to have lunch with my sister, Sharon,  who lives there.  Traffic and construction were both heavy but not a bad trip, beautiful scenery.  Had a nice long lunch at Pizza Madness in the middle of historic Canon City then drove back to the RV where we both took a nap.  I rarely, if ever nap.  We figured it must be the altitude, we’re at about 6800’ and not used to it.  There are 7 springs in Manitou Springs, which is 2 miles down the road from the RV.  We visited Navajo Spring the other day and this afternoon went to two more.  Iron Spring was our first stop.  We tasted the water, spit it out and continued to Twin Spring, which tasted a bit sweet.  They say it’s good to make lemonade with but we’ll drink it as is.  Filled up some containers then went to Colorado Mountain Brewery for the 3 B’s, Bison Chili, Bison Burger and Beer.  Neither one of us was that hungry since lunch so we split everything.  Except the beer, I got a flight and Harry got a pint.  Good food, nice place.  Back to the RV to rest some more.
