Day 27-August 1, 2017-Chores in Colorado Springs, CO
Warmer today, up to 88. Locals are complaining about the heat and humidity
It’s definitely better weather today but still not clear enough to take the cog railway up to Pikes Peak. We drove up a few years ago and wanted to try to the railway this year but it isn’t meant to be. Maybe another time. We have chores to do anyway. Both of us got long overdue haircuts, then got the truck washed. Had to go through twice and use the bug scrubber in between but it finally got clean. Stocked up on some groceries which became more of an ordeal than it should have been. There’s a Safeway right down the street but it was really lacking in selection and cleanliness. So we got some stuff there then went to a Wal-Mart for the rest. Filled up the gas tank to get ready to go tomorrow, then back to the campground to read and relax for a bit. We’ve had a great time in Colorado Springs and definitely would come back again but it’s now time to move on.
