Learn The Best Way To Cook Brisket

2017-09-18

This is less a restaurant review than an account of what I like about Elijah's Restaurant. You could say it's the best beef brisket enchiladas recipe deli in La Jolla, California, and that would be about right. But it's much more, including my absolute favorite restaurant in La Jolla, period. Here's why.The other big daddy of smoking wood...if you're from Texas. This wood is the most powerful of all smoking wood. Mesquite has a very strong and robust flavor. Best used with beef and larger cuts of meat. Of course, it's often the choice for Texas beef brisket. Too much of this smoking wood will render your food inedible. Go light and mix it with other smoking wood until you get a better feel of mesquite's power. I may throw a chunk, or two onto my Thanksgiving turkey fire if I'm feeling a bit rebellious. A chip, or two on the grill adds a nice southwest flavor to a steak...just go easy! One of the most popular sites is Food Network. There you can find slow cooker bbq brisket from chefs such as Rachel Ray as well as recipes submitted by viewers. The choices range from simple recipes that require only a few ingredients such as chicken chili or braised short ribs. For a more gourmet meal, you can find recipes for meals like Batu from Mario Batali which is preserved duck from Piacenza or even chicken and dumplings.Years ago I went to Belgium and could not get enough of the the classic Belgian meal, moulle e frites, mussels and fresh-cut French fries. Of course the slow cooker bbq brisket Belgian beer is world renowned. Every small town has a pub that makes remarkable beer, and in the cities you can sit outside in an outdoor cafe and enjoy a big steaming pot of mussels and drink some amazing beers. Witbier is a classic with steamed mussels, but when I was in Belgium I preferred to try as many different Abbey Dubels and Tripels as I could, and they paired perfectly with the succulent North Sea Belgian mussels. As for those non cooks who still have a kitchen and refrigerator, a holiday serving platter with home made cookies, muffins and/or breads on it is sure to be bbq beef dip. Also fun magnets are always great stocking stuffers!
