West Coast Story
3rd Mar 2011 - 8th Mar 2011 - San Francisco Again
Spectacular Fog Display Tonight - and on my way home!!

Tonight we had a spectacular display at sunset as the fog rolled in. It comes over the mountains like sauce on ice cream and tonight it moved over and under the Bridge. How lucky am I to have this on my doorstep!! Every day is different and the Bridge has so many different moods. And these photos were taken by my little digital camera too......
These past few weeks I have been concentrating on getting all the paperwork in the house in order - making a big fat mess from what I can see, with every surface covered with receipts and folders. However, who would have known that lurking in all that paperwork were some unpresented cheques and some other unclaimed receipts, etc, so it has been well worth my while to do this. I think I am almost at the end of it, so I can finally put everything into boxes and away, send it all off to the tax accountant and I have booked my ticket home for this weekend. I will spend the better part of March at home, simply enjoying the sunshine (I hope) and being with Jen and Chris. The weather here has not really been all that great as San Francisco had some of its coldest weeks on record - just my luck - they even predicted snow in the city one weekend, a very rare occurrence. However, it was not to be - we simply had the cold temps and rain. I have to come back for AACR in Orlando in April, but hopefully, the time in Oz will pass slowly and I will be able to enjoy my family and our wonderful home in the sun. In between the paperwork, I have been able to catch up with friends for lunch and dinner and generally potter a bit. I had no idea how truly exhausted I was and even now, I do not feel all that rested. I think it will take quite some time to come back to 'normal'. I made a sudden decision that as I have the tennis courts in such close proximity, I should go over there and hit a ball against the wall every day to loosen up my back and help with the pain. So, off I went to buy my racquets and balls - they are so cheap here, I could not believe it!! Sadly, I am not an accurate ball hitter, and I have limited myself each day to 2 lost balls a day as they sail over the wall and onto the roof of the building. It is proving to be a costly exercise, that is for sure, and I need to go out again to replenish my supply as I am down to my last ball........However, it is good for me, I am sure and gets me out for an hour or so on those days when it is sunny. Anyway, will see many of you very soon. Pencil me into the calendar and we can catch up together. Love Deb
