West Coast Story
18th Aug 2012 - Australia for the Birthdays...
Heading Back to San Francisco

Finally, heading back to San Francisco, so looking forward to catching up with everyone soon. I arrive on 23rd and then have to head to Philadelphia for a few days on 26th. Then, free as a bird.... I thought I would drive to Basking Ridge to check out my little place there, and then spend time with friends, before braving the Hurricane Season in my favourite part of the world. Turks and Caicos is in the 90's - haven't experienced the sun on my face for a while, so I am looking forward to it very much....I will let you all know when I am in the vicinity.
The last few weeks have been pretty exhausting - the practice is going great guns - I have so many patients - it is wonderful as the oncologists are wonderfully supportive and sending lots of patients - I have to say, they are very sick little chooks - I guess all the new medications available for oncology makes the story so much more complex than it used to be - all I know is that the patients are very acute and very sick, so I am enjoying the medicine very much. In between times, have had my friend staying with me who is needing some practical support with her health challenges, and my aunts have been in and out of Sydney as one of them is having tests at RNSH. So, it is a combination of hospital, home and restaurant around our place at the moment. And me being the chief medical officer, head chef and maid!! Getting back to the US will give me a break, that is for sure!! Our new little kitten is lovely, but still unbelievably scared. She stays downstairs all day and shakes and cries if anyone goes anywhere near her. She is too big to hide under the lounge now, so she just runs away. Any noise makes her run away. Good thing is that she and our other cat (Roger or Paddy, depending on who you ask) get along pretty well. It is nice to see the big cat hovering around her and seemingly making sure she is OK. She is so cute, but it is really hard to make a relationship with her...
Jen is busy at work and doing her Spanish classes in preparation for her trip at the end of the year to South America, and Chris is Mr Perpetual Motion as per usual. Both are busy, busy, busy.......
