Orsta, Norway
Friday 10th August 2012 I had a great day, went on an excursion called “Classic Norway” and that was just what it was. Beautiful scenery, high mountains covered in trees, topped with clouds, dramatic views across green valleys, waterfalls and fjords. Loads of fjords and waterfalls, Hugh did not come, good thing he would have had fjord and waterfall overload. They took us on a drive round Fjords alongside lakes, up narrow roads that clung to the sides of mountains and down into green valleys. Everything you expect of Norway, it was all lovely. We had a ride on two ferries across fjords and lunch of local caught and cooked salmon and salad in a hotel. Hugh took the shuttle bus into the town of Orsta and had a look round and took some photos for me. He said it was very like the other towns we have seen in Norway, very clean and tidy lots of well kept wooden houses. There is a show tonight by the ships orchestra, The big band sounds, I am looking ofrwrd to that
