(Lucretius) Hi, we're Duncan & Irene. I come from New Brunswick, Canada and Irene is from Groningen in northern Holland. We met when we were living in Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles and got the boat bug there. For over ten years we've been sailing "Moose", our 39' cutter around the world. And, we have completed our circumnavigation by arriving back in Curacao. The sweetest come back ever! We completed a circle of 40,000 miles, most of it at 5 miles per hour... Now we're off the boat for a while; no pirates, no midnight tankers. But we are still traveling, and the next cruise is in the making ..... It's nice being back in the first world in that you don't have to constantly be watching your six-o'clock...on the other hand, I think you can be suffocated by regulations. We have a new lifestyle, but what rich experiences and memories. When we look at the photos we are sort of in awe. We've taken many of our sailing experiences from the early years and spun them into a book; "Never a Dull Moment" is the title and it's out now! If you're keen on going cruising it will be very helpful. Had a really nice sort of day today; Irene and I went out into the country and visited friends and mucked about in the backwoods. It"s fall here in New Brunswick (autumn, for Europeans and antipodeans.) The leaves of the hardwoods are turning reds and oranges and yellows, while their coniferous neighbors contrast a vibrant green.
